Blessing the Children

Each year since 2004, Earthdance has chosen a singular Global Focus to further unite events around the world. By putting our attention on a positive and healing theme as a collective global family, we have an even deeper impact on this planet that we hold so dear.

This year’s theme will be “Blessing the Children” as events around the world focus on causes that support children both locally and internationally.

Jonas Salk said,“Good parents give their children Roots and Wings”.  We further interpret this with an intention to give them roots to keep them grounded through tough times, and give them wings to soar above everything, explore new worlds and fly farther than we ever did!  It is within this spirit and intention that we have fulfilled our family-oriented programming for Earthdance Victoria 2009, and have built an event we know will be a huge dancing hit with children of all ages, and of course the dancing child in each of us.

EARTHDANCE :: GROUP YOGA IN THE PARK

As a start to the Earthdance Festival in Beacon Hill Park on Saturday, September 16, there will be a yoga class from 11-11:45am at the Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park. The class will be co-taught by several teachers from Victoria yoga studios and will be taught to the groove of the Karmetic Collective. It is an opportunity to share energy and connect within a large group of people – perhaps the largest outdoor yoga class Vancouver Island has seen! The practice will be grounding and energetic, yet playful, suitable for all ages and will set the tone for a day full of self-expressive movement. Come join us in the park – rain or shine!
